Opera, the norwegian mobile and desktop browser maker, today made a breakthrough announcement in the spread of SVG to the desktop by publishing a press release detailing the integration of SVG Tiny 1.1 in Opera 8, Opera's next desktop browser. This announcement follows last month's news that Opera integrated with Ikivo's Mobile SVG Player for their mobile browser. While other browsers have been working on native support for SVG, such as Mozilla and their SVG project, Opera becomes the first desktop browser to natively support a complete W3C profile of SVG.
