Following the earlier announcement that SVG was coming to Safari, the first milestone is upon us as the KSVG code just landed in the WebKit CVS tree. KSVG, originally a KDE project, is being used along with its companion KDOM and KCanvas projects as the basis of the open-source SVG implementation in WebKit, the web-page rendering component used in Apple's Safari browser, as well as many Mac OS X applications. In plain words, this means that developers interested in making the SVG implementation in Safari a world-class achievement can now start contributing to the project. More information is available on the WebKit SVG page as well as the WebKit SVG Wiki page, and also on kde.org.
