SVG Built Into MIT's OLPC $100 Laptop

The first working prototype of the laptop being created by the One Laptop Per Child project has been completed, and as development of the $100 laptop nears its completion additional information surfaces about the device's capabilities. Both Ars.Technica and eSchool News have posted stories about the laptop and covered the fact that the integrated chat system uses SVG to display graphics drawn by the user in the chat window. It appears that the device's large touchpad may be used to draw as well as control the mouse pointer. Pictures of the latest prototype have also been posted online, as well as a screenshot of the chat window as shown below:

I know this is old news but does anyone have a update on when these are actually going to be released for the public?

Can anyone tell me where I can find updates on the use of SVG in this particular project? I know this project has been up and running for a while, but I can't seem to find some relevant information (not here and not on the One Laptop Per Child's website). Please send me an e-mail or PM. Thanks in advance. Realtones
